Acoustic camera – making sound visible with state-of-the-art measurement technology

An acoustic camera is a state-of-the-art measuring instrument for visualising sound sources. With the aid of a microphone array and imaging technology, the acoustic camera precisely detects where and at what intensity noises occur. This technology is used in industry, building acoustics, automotive engineering and machine acoustics to identify and specifically minimise noise sources.

How does an acoustic camera work?
An acoustic camera combines several microphones with a camera to locate sound sources. The system creates a so-called sound map, which shows on an image or video where the loudest noise sources are located. This enables targeted analysis of noise problems in production facilities, machine housings, vehicles or heat pumps.

Acoustic camera use at Cellofoam

Cellofoam has its own acoustic cameras and can therefore carry out sound measurements directly on site at customers' premises. This precise sound analysis allows noise sources to be quickly identified and individual sound insulation solutions to be developed.
