As a family business, we are putting particular focus on the careful use of resources. This is why environmental protection, health and sustainability take center stage among our corporate goals.
We consistently endeavor to use recyclable materials, minimize the consumption of scarce raw materials, and develop products that are not only highly performant but also eco-friendly, for instance on the basis of PES non-wovens with up to 70% recycled content from PET bottles.
We also make sure to use energy-efficient processes, short transport routes and a responsible supply chain in our operations. Our employees benefit from a safe, healthy working environment – and our customers appreciate our long-lasting quality products that protect the environment and conserve resources.
For Cellofoam, sustainability is not a trend, but a mindset that determines our daily actions – today and for future generations.
Our energy-saving measures
In recent years, our particular focus has been on saving energy. We have implemented successful measures that help significantly reduce energy consumption in our company:
✔ We heat our new facility in Ochsenhausen primarily with recovered heat.
✔ We produce approximately 600,000 kWh of clean solar power per year with our
photovoltaic system.
✔ We apply a system for active energy management.
✔ We conduct energy audits as per DIN 16247-1 to continuously improve our
energy footprint.
✔ We have installed sensor-controlled lighting in our office buildings, for energy-efficient
and on-demand illumination.
Our measures for waste prevention & recycling
We use efficient nesting calculation across different articles in order to minimize production waste. Still, in trimming and cutting processes, production scraps cannot be totally eliminated. However, we do everything to systematically recycle any scraps where possible and use them for new, highly efficient noise control products:

PFAS-free: our polyester non-woven with water-repellent properties
Our water-repellent polyester non-woven (Cello® F700 FR HO) is completely free of PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances). PFAS are considered harmful to health and the environment because they are extremely persistent and can accumulate in humans and the natural environment.
By ruling out the use of PFAS-containing materials, we are sending out a clear signal of sustainability and responsibility. Our polyester non-woven continues to score with the same excellent properties as always: high dimensional stability, ease of handling/ processing and remarkable versatility – now even more ecological and health-friendly.
